![]() ![]() I no longer compete since there are no high power clubs in my living area but my Federal Ordinance M1A still sings.no flying bolts, no slam fires, no cracks, no failure to feed and still better than a M.O.A. Sure it was not the only reason.but a major one. Yes FORGED TRW receivers cracked under stress.no kidding!! as a result of automatic fire and just normal rough usage to be expected in theater. who actually worked on the M14 issues and one of the many reasons the ARMY decided to get rid of the M14 was.CRACKED RECEIVERS. the real government one, over 38 yrs ago and had an opportunity to speak with the engineers. attempting a barrel installation himself. I still bet the original owner crushed it in a VICE. Just look at where the crack is located? At a non stress point. and squeezed the receiver when he attempted to attach a barrel himself. I bet the jerk cracked that receiver when he used an ordinary VICE. ![]() I will put it up against any over priced forged receiver any where any time. ![]() Before they installed their barrel, I initially spoke with them after they accepted the Federal Ordinance receiver and """""according to them - not me """" They said the receiver was well within tolerances. Lost track of the number of rounds through it. I have been shooting it for over 25 YEARS. I own a Federal Ordinance M1A with a stainless steel Kieger barrel.
